Rear Cross-Member: Service and Repair
Removal

SUSPENSION: REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER (for 4WD): REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR WHEELS
2. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

4. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

5. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Rear Axle Hub/Removal

6. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR RH

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

7. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH 

8. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT RH

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

9. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Wheel Fastener/Service and Repair/Rear

Axle Hub Bolt/Replacement

10. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

11. REMOVE REAR DISC (for LH Side) See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and Repair/Rear Brake/Disassembly

12. REMOVE REAR DISC (for RH Side)

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

13. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Rear Axle

Hub/Removal

14. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

15. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Trailing Arm/Service and

Repair/Removal

16. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

17. REMOVE REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY LH See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Trailing Arm/Service and Repair/Removal

18. REMOVE REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

19. REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Rear Axle

Hub/Removal
