Installation
STEERING COLUMN: STEERING WHEEL: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. POSITION FRONT WHEELS STRAIGHT AHEAD
2. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable/Service and Repair/Installation
3. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft.
(b) Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
(c) Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.
4. INSTALL STEERING PAD See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering Pad/Installation
5. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering
Pad/Installation
6. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering
Pad/Installation
7. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. See: Testing and

9. INSPECT STEERING PAD See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Steering Pad/Installation
10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
