Seats - Improved Wear For Leather Seat Backs

POWER SEAT BACK MECHANISM - PLASTIC TUBE INSTALLATION

To prevent damage to the seat back material on vehicles equipped with leather seats, a plastic tube has been added to the seat back drive shaft (1 tube for
each seat). The plastic tube prevents chaffing of the vinyl material against the rotating drive shaft.

1.  Phillips screwdriver (# 2 tip)       
2.  Flat blade screwdriver (med)        
3.  Ratchet (3/8 drive)                 
4.  Short extension                     
5.  Six point socket (12 mm)
6.  Nut driver (12 mm)
7.  Hog ring pliers
8.  Diagonal (wire cutters)

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

Utmost care should be used when working with leather covered seats, especially when removing and installing the seat back leather cover.

Torque all bolts to the specified torque values listed in the '93 Land Cruiser Repair Manual (RM3104) on page BO-68.

REMOVE SEAT FROM VEHICLE:

Using the vertical height adjustment switch, adjust the seat cushion so that the front of the cushion is in the uppermost position and the rear of the
cushion is in the lowermost position.

Slide the seat forward to gain access to the seat track covers (approximately 4 inches from the front seat track stop).

Carefully pry-off the 2 plastic rear seat track covers.
