1. Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Remove rear disc brake assembly.
3. Place matchmarks on disc and rear hub, then remove disc, Fig. 8.
4. Remove tension spring using suitable pliers.
5. Remove shoe return springs.
6. Remove shoe strut with spring.
7. Remove rear shoe, adjuster and tension spring, Fig. 8.
8. Remove front shoe hold-down spring cups, springs and pin.
9. Slide out front shoe.

10. Disconnect parking brake cable from parking brake shoe lever.
11. Measure clearance between parking brake shoe and lever. If clearance is greater than .0138 inch, replace shim to obtain correct clearance.
12. Apply high temperature grease to the backing plate, adjusting screw and sliding surfaces of the shoe.
13. Install parking brake cable to front shoe using suitable pliers.
14. Install front shoe pin to backing plate, then slide in front shoe.
15. Install front shoe hold-down spring and cups.
16. Install tension spring, rear shoe and adjuster.
17. Install front shoe hold-down spring and cups.
18. Install strut with spring.
19. Install shoe return springs.
20. Install disc brake assembly.
