Circuit Opening Relay: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Pump Circuit Opening Relay
INSPECTION
1. Remove foot rest.
2. Remove scuff plate.
3. Remove circuit opening relay.
4. Inspect circuit opening relay continuity.

Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals STA and E1.

Check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FC.
-
Check that there is NO continuity between terminals +B and FP.
-
If continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.
5. Inspect relay operation.

Apply battery voltage across terminals STA and E1.

Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FP.
-
Apply battery voltage across terminals +B and FC.
-
Check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FP.
-
If operation is not as specified, replace the relay.
6. Reinstall circuit opening relay.
7. Reinstall scuff plate.
8. Reinstall foot rest.
