1.

Remove transmission and transfer cover, then clean transmission exterior.

2.

Remove transmission drain plug and drain ATF into suitable container.

3.

Remove oil pan protector, bolts, oil pan and gasket. Some fluid will remain in oil pan. Be careful not to damage filler tube.

4.

Remove applied sealer with a suitable blade. Be careful not to damage oil pan flange.

5.

Remove bolts and washers, then oil strainer and gasket.

6.

Remove valve body bolts, then disconnect four connectors from solenoids.

7.

Remove throttle cable from cam, then valve body.

8.

Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Torque valve body bolts to specifications, Fig. 2.
b. Torque oil strainer bolts to specifications, Fig. 3.
c. Torque oil pan bolts and drain plug to specifications.
d. Check transmission fluid level.
