EGR Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

VACUUM CONTROL VALVE (VSV) FOR EGR INSPECTION 

1. Remove air intake chamber.

NOTE: Refer to fuel injection service and repair.
See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair

2. Inspect VSV.

A. Disconnect vacuum hoses and connector.

B. Inspect VSV for open circuit.

Using an ohmmeter. check that there is continuity between the terminals.

Resistance:
At 20°C (68°F): 30 - 34 ohms 

If there is no continuity, replace the VSV.

C. Inspect VSV for ground

Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.
If there is continuity, replace the VSV.

D. Inspect VSV operation
