2. Inspect the vane pump rotor and 10 vane plates by performing the following.

a. Using a micrometer, measure the height, thickness and length of the plate.The minimum height is8.6 mm (0.339 inch), the minimum thickness

is 1.397 mm (0.05500 inch) and the minimum length is 14.991 mm (0.59016 inch).

b. Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the rotor groove and plate. The maximum clearance is 0.033 mm (0.00130 inch).

NOTE:

If more than the maximum. replace the plate and/or rotor with one having the mark equivalent to the mark stamped on the cam ring.

The inscribed marks are Vane pump rotor: 1, 2, or None, and Cam ring: 2, 3, or 4.

There are 3 vane plate lengths for the following rotor and cam ring marks.

Lengths

No rotor mark, cam ring mark (2), vane plate number 44345 - 60030, plate length 14.995 - 14.997 mm (0.59035 - 0.59043 inch).

Rotor mark (1), cam ring mark (3), vane plate number 44345 - 60040, plate length 14.993 - 14.995 mm (059027 - 0.59035 inch).

Rotor mark (2), cam ring mark (4), vane plate number 44345 - 60050, plate length 14.991 - 14.993 mm (0.59020 - 0.59027 inch).

3. Inspect the flow control valve by performing the following.

a. Coat the valve with power steering fluid and check that it falls smoothly into the valve hole by its own weight.
