9. Install the washer so that its protrusions fit into the slots in the side rear plate.

10. Install the rear housing by performing the following.

a. Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it to the housing.

b. Using a press, apply just enough pressure to compress the wave washer, and install a new snap ring to the front housing.

11. Install spring, flow control valve and pressure port union by performing the following.

a. Install the valve facing the correct direction.
b. Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it to the union.
c. Tighten the union to 69 Nm (51 ft. lbs.).

12. Install the vane pump drive gear by performing the following procedures.

a. Install the woodruff key and gear.

b. Using soft jaws on a vise, clamp the gear in the vise. 

NOTE:  Be careful not to damage the gear.

c. Tighten the gear set nut to 74 Nm (54 ft. lbs.).

13. Measure the power steering pump rotating torque. 
14. Install the suction port union after first coating a new O-ring with power steering fluid and installing it to the union then tightening the bolt to 13

Nm (9 ft. lbs.).
