Applicability

Introduction

Some 2009 - 2010 model year Matrix vehicles may exhibit a condition where the back door (rear hatch) may not open fully in low ambient temperatures.
The back door stays have been improved to correct this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first,

from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure

1. Remove the back door stay assembly.

Avoid touching the stroke portions of the rod as much as possible to prevent foreign matter from attaching to the stroke portions. Be sure to hold
the cylinder case while servicing.
