Axle Beam: Service and Repair
Removal

REAR SUSPENSION: REAR AXLE BEAM: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR WHEELS

2. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Lower Instrument Panel/Removal

3. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Rear Brake (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)/Removal

4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR (for LH Side)   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Parking Brake System/Parking Brake

Cable/Service and Repair/Parking Brake Cable (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)/Removal

5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR (for RH Side)

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

6. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Brake (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)/Removal

7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

8. DISCONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE LH   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel Speed

Sensor/Service and Repair/Rear Speed Sensor/Removal

9. DISCONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

10. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE LH

(a) Remove the bolt.

(b) Disengage the clamp and separate the rear speed sensor wire LH from the rear axle beam.

11. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

12. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH

(a) Remove the bolt and separate the rear flexible hose LH from the rear axle beam.
