Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Removal

2AZ-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH
2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal
4. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

(a) Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley in place and loosen the pulley bolt.

(b) Using SST, remove the crankshaft pulley.

SST: 09950-50013

SST: 09950-40011

HINT:  If necessary, remove the pulley and pulley bolt using SST.

5. REMOVE FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

(a) Using a knife, cut off the lip of the oil seal.
(b) Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.

NOTE:  Do not damage the surfaces of the oil seal press fit hole and crankshaft.
HINT:  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
