Removal

2AZ-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT See: Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair
5. SEPARATE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
6. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal
7. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY See: Starting and Charging/Charging System/Alternator/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

8. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

9. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY

(a) Using SST, remove the 4 bolts and water pump pulley.

10. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the clamp of the crankshaft position sensor from the water pump.
(b) Disconnect the wire of the crankshaft position sensor from the clamp bracket.

(c) Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and clamp bracket.
