Removal

2AZ-FE FUEL: FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

(a) Discharge fuel system pressure See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service Precautions/Technician Safety

Information/Fuel System Precaution.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel suction tube assembly from the fuel tank assembly See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel

Pump/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal.

4. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

(a) Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector.

NOTE:  Do not damage the wire harness.

(b) Release the lock and slide the fuel sender gauge assembly to remove it.

NOTE:  Make sure that the fuel sender gauge arm does not bend.

5. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

(a) Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector.

NOTE:  Do not damage the wire harness.

(b) Release the lock and slide the fuel sender gauge assembly to remove it.

NOTE:  Make sure that the fuel sender gauge arm does not bend.

6. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (for 4WD)

(a) Remove the rear floor service hole cover.

7. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE RH ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)
