Removal

2AZ-FE FUEL: FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

(a) Discharge fuel system pressure See: Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Fuel System Precaution.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the fuel suction tube assembly from the fuel tank assembly See: Fuel Pump/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal.

4. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) See: Fuel Tank/Fuel Gauge Sender/Service and Repair/Removal
5. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) See: Fuel Tank/Fuel Gauge Sender/Service and Repair/Removal
6. REMOVE FUEL PUMP (for 4WD)

(a) Release the claw and disconnect the fuel pump filter hose.

(b) Disengage the claw of the jet pump nozzle.
(c) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the jet pump.

(d) Remove the O-ring from the jet pump.
