Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair
Removal

U250E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE BATTERY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
3. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

4. SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.
(b) Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable bracket.

5. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

(b) Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever.

(c) Using a screwdriver, unstake the lock plate.
