(a) Support the rear axle beam assembly using a jack and wooden block.
(b) Remove the nut and rear shock absorber cushion retainer.

41. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING

(a) Remove the 2 nuts from the rear shock absorber with coil spring (upper side).
(b) Remove the bolt (lower side) from the rear shock absorber with coil spring.
(c) Slowly lower the jack and remove the rear shock absorber with coil spring.

42. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SHOCK ABSORBER CUSHION WASHER

(a) Using SST, compress the rear coil spring.

HINT:  If the rear coil spring is compressed at an angle, using 2 SST will make the work easier.

(b) Check that the rear coil spring is fully compressed.

NOTE:  Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.
