(a) Fully tighten the nut on the rear shock absorber with coil spring (lower side).
Torque: 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft-lbf)
NOTE: The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.
52. INSPECT REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Rear Wheel Alignment (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension).
53. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD (w/ VSC)
54. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ VSC)
NOTE: Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.
55. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ VSC)
56. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (w/ VSC) See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction

57. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (w/ VSC) See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control

DISPOSAL
1. DISPOSE OF REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
(a) Fully extend the piston rod and secure the rear shock absorber assembly at an angle in a vise.
(b) Using a drill, make a hole in the cylinder as shown in the illustration to discharge the gas inside the cylinder.
NOTICE:

The gas is colorless, odorless, and non-poisonous.

Be careful when drilling because shards of metal may fly about, so always use proper safety equipment.
