Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal

U250E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: SPEED SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

5. REMOVE BATTERY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal
6. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

7. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the transmission oil level gauge sub-assembly.
(b) Disconnect the transmission wire connector, park/neutral position switch connector and 2 wire harness clamps.
(c) Remove the bolt and transmission oil filler tube sub-assembly.
(d) Remove the O-ring from the transmission oil filler tube sub-assembly.

8. REMOVE SPEED SENSOR NT

(a) Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and speed sensor.
(c) Remove the O-ring from the speed sensor.

9. REMOVE SPEED SENSOR NC

(a) Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and speed sensor.
(c) Remove the O-ring from the speed sensor.
