HEADLIGHTS ON WITH SWITCH IN "OFF" POSITION

Introduction 
Some customers may complain that the headlights turn on with the switch in the "OFF" position while the vehicle is parked. This could result in a dead
battery after an extended cold soak. An updated Headlamp Switch has been made available to address this situation.

Applicable Vehicles

2003 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles produced before the VINs shown below.

Parts Information

Repair Procedure 

1.

Replace the Headlamp Switch.

2.

Confirm proper headlight operation. If any of the three headlight modes (DRL/High/Low) are inoperative, refer to TSB EL001-03, "DRL Relay
Check After Low/Dead Battery."

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty *:

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
