Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Using a suitable feeler gauge, measure clearance between driven rotor and pump case, Fig. 25.

Clearance should be .0039-.0067 inch. If feeler gauge clearance obtained exceeds .0079 inch, repalce oil pump rotor set and/or pump case.

Using a feeler gauge, measure clearance between both rotor tips, Fig. 26. Clearance should be .0016-.0067 inch. If feeler gauge clearance obtained
exceeds .0079 inch, replace oil pump rotor set.
