Starter Motor: Testing and Inspection
Hold-In Test
1. Install test equipment as outlined under Pull-In Test.
2. With pinion gear out, disconnect negative lead from terminal C.
3. Ensure pinion gear remains out.
4. If pinion gear returns inward, replace magnetic switch.
