Parking Brake System: Adjustments

1.

Pull parking brake lever all the way up and down two or three times, then return parking brake lever to down position.

2.

Depress brake pedal several times, then pull parking brake lever all the way up, counting the number of notches of lever travel.

If lever does not click 5-8 times, adjust parking brake as follows: 

a. Pull parking brake lever all the way up and down two or three times, then return parking brake lever.
b. Depress brake pedal several times.
c. Remove fuel tank protector.
d. Loosen adjusting nut and brake cable and ensure that parking brake crank touches stopper pin.
e. Stretch brake cable by turning adjusting nut before parking brake crank begins to move.
f.

Torque adjusting nuts to 12 ft. lbs. Tighten adjusting nuts so that equalizer is horizontal to ground.

g. Install fuel tank protector.
