Remove disc rotor, then ensure that bearing play in axial direction does not exceed .002 inch.

Remove cotter pin and nut, then, using tool 09610-20012 or equivalent, disconnect tie rod end from rear axle carrier.

7.

Disconnect rear axle carrier from lower arm.

8.

Scribe alignment marks on shock absorber lower bracket and camber adjusting cam.

9.

Remove two axle carrier set nuts and two bolts with camber adjusting cam.

10.

Remove rear axle carrier and axle hub. Cover driveshaft boot with cloth to prevent damage.

11.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque two axle carrier nuts to 105 ft. lbs. on 1985-86 models or 166 ft. lbs. on 1987-88 models, rear axle carrier to
lower arm attaching nut to 59 ft. lbs., the suspension arm attaching nut to 36 ft. lbs., the brake caliper attaching bolts to 43 ft. lbs., and the bearing
locknut to 137 ft. lbs.
