Removal and Installation

Front Axle Hub And Steering Knuckle

REMOVAL

1. Remove the front wheel.

NOTE: When installing the wheel,tighten it to 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.).

2. If the vehicle has ABS, remove the bolt and disconnect the speed sensor.

NOTE: When installing the speed sensor, tighten it to 8.0 Nm (71 inch lbs.).

3. Remove the bolt, and disconnect the brake hose from the shock absorber.

NOTE: When installing the brake hose tighten it to 29 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

4. Remove the front brake caliper and disc by doing the following.

a. Remove the two bolts and brake caliper from the steering knuckle.

NOTE: When installing the bolts to the caliper tighten them to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.).

b. Support the brake caliper securely.
c. Remove the disc.

5. Check the bearing backlash and axle hub deviation, doing the following.
