Lateral Stabilizer Rod: Service and Repair

Rear Suspension / Axle Beam And Lateral Control Rod

REMOVAL

1. Remove the brake drums with axle hubs.
2. Remove the rear brakes.
3. If the vehicle has ABS, remove ABS speed sensor by doing the following

a. Remove the bolt and the ABS speed sensor.

NOTE: When installing the speed sensor, tighten the bolt to 8.0 Nm (71 inch lbs.).

b. Remove the three bolts and the ABS speed sensor wire harness.

NOTE: When installing the speed sensor wire harness, tighten the bolts to to 5.0 Nm (48 inch lbs.).

4. Remove the two bolts and disconnect the parking brake cable from the backing plate. 

NOTE: When installing, tighten the bolts to 8.0 Nm (69 inch lbs.).

5. Disconnect the brake line by doing the following.
