b. Place matchmarks on the inboard joint tulip and tripod.
NOTE: Do not punch the marks.
c. Remove the inboard joint tulip from the drive shaft.
3. Remove the tripod by doing the following.
a. Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.
b. Place matchmarks on the shaft and tripod.
NOTE:

Do not punch the marks. Using a brass bar and hammer, remove the tripod from the drive shaft.

Do not tap the roller.
4. Remove the inboard joint boot and the two boot clamps
5. For the right hand drive shaft, remove the dynamic damper by doing these steps.
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the damper clamp.
b. Remove the damper from the drive shaft.
6. Remove the outboard joint boot after doing these steps.
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the two boot clamps.
b. Remove the boot and two boot clamps from the outboard joint.
NOTE: Do not disassemble the outboard joint.
7. Using the 09950 - 00020 Special Service Tool (SST) and a press, remove the dust cover from the inboard joint tulip.
8. If the vehicle does not have ABS, remove the No.2 dust deflector by doing the following.
a. Mount the outboard joint in a soft jaw vise.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the No.2 dust deflector.
