To eliminate gear clash while shifting into reverse, the following changes have been made:
FIGURE 1 - IDLER GEAR
1)
An increase in reverse idler gear shifting stroke resulting in a .098" (2.5 mm) increase in gear contact width.
2)
An increase in the width of the reverse idler gear from .630" (16 mm) to .689" (17.5 mm) as well as other dimensional changes shown below.
NOTE:
Proper clutch system operation and adjustment is important to ensure the effectiveness of this gear.
