Camshaft: Service and Repair
1.
Remove valve cover.
2.
Remove accessory drive belts, fan and fan pulley.
3.
Remove crankshaft pulley.
4.
Remove timing gear cover and belt guide.
5.
Remove idler pulley and timing belt. Place reference marks on timing belt and each pulley for reference during installation.
6.
Remove camshaft timing pulley and rocker shaft assembly.
7.
Remove camshaft bearing caps, then the camshaft.
8.
Reverse procedure to install. Check to ensure that timing belt and pulley reference marks made during disassembly align. Adjust valves as
described under ``Valves, Adjust.''
