1.
Operate engine until normal operating temperature is obtained.
2.
Ensure adjusting lever touches the maximum speed adjusting screw when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
3.
If not, disconnect accelerator linkage, then using tool No. 09275-54020 or equivalent, loosen locknut on maximum speed adjusting screw.
4.
Turn adjusting screw until 5100 RPM is obtained on 1983-84 models, or 4900 RPM is obtained on 1985 models, Fig. 20.
