Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) for EGR: Testing and Inspection
Diesel Engines
1.
Connect ohmmeter between VSV terminals and metal housing. If meter indicates continuity, assembly is defective.
2.
Connect ohmmeter across VSV terminals. at 68°F, meter should read 33-39 ohms for 1C engines or 36-42 ohms for 2L engines.
3.
Connect battery voltage across VSV terminals. Air should flow through valve ports.
4.
Disconnect battery and blow air through angled port for 1C engines or inner port for 2L engines. Air should flow from filter.
