Cold Start Injector: Service and Repair
REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal and disconnect the Cold Start Injector connector.
2. Put a suitable container under the Cold Start Injector to catch any gasoline that escapes.
3. Remove the union bolt and two gaskets from the injector.
4. Disconnect the injector fuel tube from the clamp. Remove the two injector mounting bolts.

5. Remove the Cold Start Injector and gasket.
INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new gasket under the Cold Start Injector.
2. Install the injector and torque the mounting bolts to 5.7 ft.lbs. (7.8 N-m).
3. Connect the injector fuel tube to the clamp. Install the injector tube with two new gaskets and the union bolt.
4. If using copper plated gaskets, torque the union bolt to 13 ft.lbs. (18 N-m). If using tin plated gaskets, torque to 11 ft.lbs (15 N-m). DO NOT
overtighten the union bolt.
5. Reconnect Cold Start Injector connector.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
