Brake Caliper: Service and Repair

Pads, Replace

1.

Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.

2.

Remove clip and hole pins, Fig. 7.

3.

Remove anti-rattle spring, then remove brake pads.

4.

Lubricate caliper housing with suitable brake grease at pad contact points.

5.

Reverse procedure to install.

Caliper, Replace

1.

Remove pads as described under "Pads, Replace".

2.

Disconnect brake hydraulic line from caliper.

3.

Remove caliper retaining bolts, then the caliper.

4.

Reverse procedure to install, then bleed brake system.
