EFE Coolant Temperature Switch: Testing and Inspection

1.

Drain coolant and remove switch from intake manifold.

2.

Check continuity between switch terminal and body using an ohmmeter.

3.

With switch below 109°F, meter should indicate continuity; with switch above 131°F, meter should indicate no continuity.

4.

If switch fails to perform as outlined, switch is defective. If all components are operating properly but system does not operate as outlined,
check for short or open circuit in system wiring. If wiring is satisfactory, replace computer and recheck system.
