Dashpot: Testing and Inspection

1. Warm up the engine.
2. Check idle speed and adjust if necessary, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
3. Check Dashpot speed setting:

a. Remove the cap and filter from the Dashpot.

b. Race the engine at 2500 rpm for a few seconds.
c. Plug the VTV hole.

d. Release the throttle valve.
e. Check that the Dashpot speed setting is at 2000 rpm.

If the speed is not as specified, adjust the Dashpot with the adjusting screw.

g. Reinstall the Dashpot filter and cap.

4. Race the engine at 2500 rpm for a few seconds.
5. Release the throttle valve and check that the engine returns to idle in approx. 1 second.
