Proper Positioning Of The Fuel Pressure Regulator

3. Torque the lock nut to 22 ft.lbs. (29 N-m).
4. Install the air intake plenum:

a. Using a new gasket, install the air intake plenum with the six bolts and two nuts

b. Torque the bolts and nuts to 13 ft.lbs. (18 N-m)
c. Connect the No.1 air hose to the reed valve
d. Using new gaskets, install the EGR valve with the pipes to the intake plenum and RH exhaust manifold
e. On the cab and chassis model only, connect the two water bypass hoses to the EGR valve
f.

Install the air intake plenum stay and torque to A: 22 ft.lbs. (29 N-m), B: 13 ft.lbs. (18 N-m)

g. Connect the EGR hoses to the air pipe and the EGR vacuum modulator
h. On California models only, connect the EGR gas temperature sensor connector

Connect the cold start injector tube with a new gasket and union bolt, torque to 13 ft.lbs. (18 N-m)

Connect the vacuum hose to the gas filter

k. Connect the cold start injector connector
l.

Install the No.5 water bypass hose to the water bypass pipe

m. Connect the No.4 water bypass hose to the union of the intake manifold
n. Connect the PCV hose to the union
o. Connect the canister vacuum hose to the throttle body
p. Connect the throttle position sensor connector

5. Reconnect the fuel return line.
6. Reconnect the vacuum sensing hose to the FPR.
7. Ensure that any gasoline that escaped is thoroughly cleaned from the engine.
8. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
