Fuel Pressure Vacuum Switching Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Connect the VSV terminals to the battery terminals as illustrated.

Checking VSV - Current Applied

2. Blow into pipe E and check that air comes out of the air filter.
3. Disconnect the battery and blow into pipe E, check that air comes out of pipe G.

Checking VSV - Current Removed

4. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the VSV body.

Checking VSV For Short Circuit

5. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals as illustrated.

Checking The VSV For An Open Circuit

Resistance Cold:

30 - 50 ohms

6. If a problem is found, replace the VSV.
