Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
1. Drain engine coolant.
2. Remove RH engine service hole cover.
(a) Remove the 3 screws and scuff plate.
(b) Remove the bolt and disconnect the RH seat belt from the front floor panel.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts and RH front seat.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts and RH front seat leg.
(e) Remove the jack and tool bag.
(f) Remove the 2 bolts and jack holder.
(g) Remove the 9 bolts and RH engine service hole cover.
3. Remove Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
(a) Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
(b) Remove the ECT sensor and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Reinstall ECT sensor.
(a) Install a new gasket to the ECT sensor.
(b) Install the ECT sensor.
Torque: 25 Nm (250 kg.cm, 17.5 ft. lbs.)
(c) Connect the ECT sensor connector.
2. Reinstall RH engine service hole cover.
(a) Install the 9 bolts and RH engine service hole cover.
Torque: 14 Nm (145 kg.cm, 10 ft. lbs.)
(b) Install the 2 bolts and jack holder.
Torque: 14 Nm (145 kg.cm, 10 ft. lbs.)
(c) Install the jack and tool bag.
(d) Install the 2 bolts and RH front seat leg.
Torque: 39 Nm (400 kg.cm, 29 ft. lbs.)
(e) Install the 4 bolts and RH front seat.
Torque: 39 Nm (400 kg.cm. 29 ft. lbs.)
(f) Install the bolt and disconnect the RH seat belt from the front floor panel.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kg.cm, 31 ft. lbs.)
(g) Install the 3 screws and scuff plate.
3. Refill with engine coolant.
