Previa Van LE 4WD L4-2438cc 2.4L DOHC SC MFI (1997)
a. Using a pin punch and hammer, remove the straight pin.
b. Remove these parts from the differential case:
1) Pinion shaft.
2) 2 pinion gears.
3) 2 pinion gear thrust washers.
4) 2 side gears.
5) 2 side gear thrust washers.
DUST COVER AND SIDE GEAR SHAFT BEARING REPLACEMENT
1. Replace RH side gear shaft bearing and dust cover.
a. Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.
b. Using Special Service Tool (SST) # 09950 - 00020 or equivalent and a press, remove the side gear shaft bearing and dust cover together.
c. Using SST # 09316 - 20011 or equivalent and a press, install a new dust cover.
d. Using a press, install a new bearing onto the RH side gear shaft.
e. Using a snap ring expander, install a new snap ring.
