4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected    See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning.

6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

7. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.

8. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor end of the front seat outer belt assembly.

9. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and

10. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal

11. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

12. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the nut and disconnect the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.

(b) Using a screwdriver, pull out the locking button in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to release the lock, and disconnect the

pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
