Brake Adjuster: Testing and Inspection

AUTO ADJUSTER CHECK

1. Remove wheel and tire.
2. Remove brake drum.
3. Move the Parking Brake Lever of the Rear Shoe back and forth. Check that the adjuster turns.

NOTE:  If the adjuster does not turn, check for incorrect installation of the rear brakes.

4. Adjust the adjuster length to the shortest possible amount.
5. Install the Brake Drum, wheel and tire.
6. Pull the Parking Brake Lever all the way up until a clicking sound can no longer be heard.
