Side and Curtain Shield Airbag Sensor

Collision / Non-Collision Inspections

INSPECTION 

1. Vehicle not involved in collision:

INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
Check the diagnostic system (see page Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection).

2. Vehicle involved in collision and airbag not deployed:

INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
Check the diagnostic system (see page Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection).

3. Vehicle involved in collision and airbag deployed:

INSPECT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
Check the diagnostic system (see page Air Bag Systems; Testing and Inspection).
Replace the side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly.

Replacement Requirements

REPLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS

In the following cases, replace the side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly.
-

If the side curtain shield airbag assembly has been deployed in a collision.

-

If the side curtain shield airbag sensor assembly has been found to be faulty in troubleshooting.

-

If the side curtain shield airbag sensor assembly has been dropped.

CAUTION:  For removal and installation of the side and curtain shield airbag sensor assembly, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
