Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Installation

2AR-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE FRONT OIL SEAL: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL

(a) Apply MP grease to the lip of a new oil seal.

NOTICE:
-

Do not allow foreign matter to contact the lip of the oil seal.

-

Do not allow MP grease to contact the dust seal.

(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover edge.

SST: 09223-22010

NOTICE:
-

Keep the lip of the oil seal free from foreign matter.

-

Do not tap in the oil seal at an angle.

2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Reassembly
3. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Installation
4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

5. CONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Installation
6. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and

Repair/Installation

7. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL See: Engine Lubrication/Testing and Inspection
8. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK See: Engine Lubrication/Engine Oil/Service and Repair/Replacement
9. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Installation

10. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Installation
