Applicability

Introduction
Some 2006  2009 model year RAV4 vehicles may exhibit M.I.L. "ON" DTCs caused by water or debris entry into the evaporative control system. The
evaporative control system has been updated to address this concern. Use the repair procedure below to address customer concerns.

Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emissions Warranty.

This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

For California specification 2006 RAV4 (2AZ-FE engine) vehicles sold, registered, and operated in California, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont,
this repair is covered under the California Emission Warranty, which is 36 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's
in-service date.

For California specification 2006 RAV4 (2GR-FE engine) and 2007-2009 RAV4 vehicles sold, registered, and operated in California, Connecticut
(starting with 08MY), Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey (starting with 09MY), Oregon (starting with 09MY), Pennsylvania (starting with 08MY),
Rhode Island (starting with 08MY), Vermont and Washington (starting with 09MY), this repair is covered under the California Long-Term Emission
Warranty, which is 84 months or 70,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
