Removal

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

CAUTION:  Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing it  See: Restraint
Systems/Air Bag Systems/Service Precautions.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat
belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service

and Repair/Lower Instrument Panel/Removal

3. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service

and Repair/Lower Instrument Panel/Removal

4. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service

and Repair/Lower Instrument Panel/Removal

5. REMOVE SWITCH BASE See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Lower Instrument

6. REMOVE CONSOLE CUP HOLDER BOX See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

7. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument

12. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the airbag sensor connectors.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and airbag sensor.
