YES - Go to step 4.

4.

Did the Remote Engine Starter (RES) function normally after the vehicle and surroundings warmed up to over -4° F (-20°C)?

^

NO - Use the RES Troubleshooting Guide to investigate other causes.

2007 Camry:

2007 Camry HV:

2006 or 2007 RAV4:

2007 Tundra:

YES - Go to step 5.

Was the temperature between -22°F and -4° F (-30°C and -20°C) when the RES did NOT operate?

^

NO - The RES may NOT operate in extreme cold temperatures at or below -22°F (-30°C). Explain to the customer that this is normal
operation of the system and no repair is required.

YES - If the customer confirms that temperatures were between the range of -22°F and -4° F (-30°C and -20°C) when the RES did NOT
operate, the Gateway ECU may be at fault.

If temperatures are between -22°F and -4°F (-30°C and -20°C) at the time of repair, test the system before replacing the unit.

If temperatures do NOT allow for confirmation, then the unit may be replaced if the other questions do not address the issue.

If the answers to all of the above are YES, proceed to "Replace the Accessory Gateway (BUS) ECU".

Replace the Accessory Gateway (BUS) ECU

1.

Order a NEW Accessory Gateway (BUS) ECU (P/N 08190-33920) from the Accessory Sales Guide (ASG).

2.

Remove and replace the Accessory Gateway (BUS) ECU with the NEW part.

2007 Camry (w/ Smart Key):

2007 Camry (w/o Smart Key):

2007 Tundra:

Perform a Function Check.

Verify that the RES is operating properly using the Accessory Function Check section found at the end of your vehicle's RES installation
instructions.
