Repair Procedure

Perform the same procedures for the RH and LH side as needed.

1.

Confirm noise is coming from the lower A pillar.

If available, attach chassis ears to the hood hinge(s).

A.

If noise is verified proceed to step 2 of the removal procedure.

B.

If NO noise is confirmed STOP The source of the noise is coming from a different location. This TSB does NOT apply.

2.

Disconnect Cable from negative battery terminal.

CAUTION

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative ( -) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner
activation.

3.

Remove front pillar cover sub-assembly upper.

Using the plastic pry tool detach the 3 clips and remove the pillar cover.

4.

Remove front fender liner.

A.

Remove the fender liner retainer.

B.

Remove the screw nut and bolt.

C.

Remove the front fender splash shield (if equipped).

5.

Remove the radiator support opening cover. Remove the 9 clips and the radiator support opening cover
