Removal and Installation

COOLING UNIT REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

INSTALLATION HINT:  Evacuate air from refrigeration system.

Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.

Specific amount:

700 ± 50g (24.89 ± 1.76 oz.)

2. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR

3. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE AND LIQUID TUBE

Remove the 2 nuts and both tubes.

Torque:

Liquid tube: 14 N.m (140 kg.cm, 10 ft.lb)
Suction hose: 32 N.m (330 kg.cm, 24 ft.lb)

REMOVAL NOTE:  Cap the open fitting immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

INSTALLATION HINT:  Lubricate 2 new O-ring with compressor oil and install the tubes.

4. REMOVE COOLING UNIT

a. Using a knife. cut off the reinforcement of glove compartment.

INSTALLATION HINT:  Install the glove compartment door reinforcement (supply parts), instead of cutting reinforcement.

b. Disconnect the connectors.
c. Remove the 3 screws, 3 nuts and cooling unit.
