Removal

PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE CABLE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the rear console box See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Lower

Instrument Panel/Removal.
HINT:  Refer to the procedures from the removal of the No. 1 console upper panel garnish up until the removal of the rear console box
sub-assembly.

2. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY See: Relays and Modules/Relays and Modules - Restraint Systems/Air Bag Control

Module/Service and Repair/Removal

3. LOOSEN LOCK NUT AND NO. 1 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT See: Adjustments
4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

(a) Disconnect the 3 cable ends and remove the equalizer.

5. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
6. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the propeller shaft with center bearing shaft See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and

Joints/Drive/Propeller Shaft/Service and Repair/Removal.

7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE

(a) Remove the cable clamp (labeled A) from the parking brake cable and vehicle body.
