Windshield Washer Motor: Service and Repair
Removal

WIPER AND WASHER: WASHER MOTOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

2. REMOVE WASHER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the clip.

(b) Pull the washer inlet of the washer jar and pump upward to remove it from the windshield washer jar and pump.

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH

(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the clip and fender liner retainer.
(b) Remove the screw, nut and bolt.
(c) w/ Diffuser:

(1) Remove the front fender splash front shield LH.

(d) Partially remove the fender liner.

HINT:  It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper cover can be removed later.

4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

HINT:  Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

5. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER See: Body and Frame/Bumper/Front Bumper/Service and Repair/Front Bumper (w/o

Under Guard)/Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

(a) w/ Under Guard:

Remove the front bumper cover  See: Body and Frame/Bumper/Front Bumper/Service and Repair/Front Bumper (w/ Under Guard)/Removal.

(b) w/o Under Guard:

Remove the front bumper cover  See: Body and Frame/Bumper/Front Bumper/Service and Repair/Front Bumper (w/o Under Guard)/Removal.

7. DRAIN WASHER FLUID

(a) Remove the washer hoses from the windshield washer motor and pump assembly, and drain the washer fluid into a container.
